There is a scripture in the Bible in the book of John, chapter 3, verse 16 that recounts the words of Jesus. He said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." 
You are part of that "whosoever." We all are. 1 John 1:9 states, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
